Step 1: First thing you want to know is to get the best results you start from the bottom and go up by adding the dressing of your choice. Depending on the size of the mason jar you are using you can use from 2 - 4 tablespoons.
Step 2: Next you add the hard veggies that will not soak up the dressing. Depending on the type of salad you choose this is where you would add items such as beans, carrots, bell peppers, celery, cucumbers, broccoli or cauliflower.
Step 3: Next you add the soft veggies like tomatoes, corn, avocado or onions. Onions can also be placed second if you want a less potent taste. Remember to pack all the layers tightly, the tighter your layers the fresher your salad.
Step 4: Its time for your Protein and Greens! When layering always put the protein before the greens. This adds a protective barrier so the greens will not get soggy. Some popular protein items are cheese, meats, beans and hard boiled eggs. When choosing your greens remember choose one that will compliment the other flavors in your salad!
